RfC on Infobox image

[edit]

I feel that a consensus is needed to establish which image is best for the infobox because the current image is poor quality and I feel that Stan Lee was better known/popular during his later years than his early years. Here are the options, please add more options if you feel they are needed:

I agree. Option C is best. Pflesher (talk) 03:40, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I personally prefer option A because it is more funny than the other options but C is still okay.

Stan Lee

  • What I think should be changed (format using {{textdiff}}): AKA
  • Why it should be changed: Leibovitz
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): History Put all Stan Lee’s names under an AKA so it makes sense and tracks through history please.

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. NotJamestack (talk) 13:54, 8 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

"Stan the Man" redirecting to Stan Musial and not to this page

[edit]

Something I brought up a few months ago in the talk page for the Stan Musial page, and I'm bringing it up here since I got no replies on the subject:

Typing "Stan the Man" on the search bar redirects to Musial's page and not this page.

Personally, I think it's a mistake, and it should redirect here. Lee has arguably accomplished much more than Musial, he is vastly more well-known than Musial (when it comes to popularity, the niche "Americans-only" sport of baseball doesn't hold a candle to the international juggernaut that is comic books), and is the first person just about most people think about when they hear the words "Stan the Man".

I dunno, what's your take on this? Agustinaldo (talk) 11:45, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

This is debatable. Most historical sources predominantly use that nickname to refer to the famous sports player. Because there can only be one primary target, there is a separate set index article for Stan the Man (nickname), which lists other individuals with that nickname, Stan Lee among them. That article is conveniently linked to at the top of Musial's article for anyone looking for Mr. Lee's article. If you did want to request the redirect target be changed, then you would have to raise your concerns with evidence and a strong rationale at our WP:Redirects for discussion page. That strikes me as a very "Americans only" approach to it. Sure, most American historical sources use it to refer to Musial, but check out any Mexican, Scottish, Italian or Norwegian historical sources, and they'll mention Lee first, Musial second or never.
That's because, again, baseball is unknown and/or mostly ignored outside the USA, while comics have international appeal. Agustinaldo (talk) 08:16, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I assure you that I have no inherent bias or strong opinion on this matter. I just described how I perceived it. I do think there is a compelling argument to be had here, and as I said, that ought to be brought up by listing the redirect at our redirects for discussion page for the wider community to gauge input on it. Discussing this at Lee's or Musial's article could lead to inherent bias. Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 18:10, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. Agustinaldo (talk) 20:21, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

why is the documentary "Stan Lee: The Final Chapter" not mentioned?

[edit]

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt36391311/ why not mention it even in passing seems notable appearently it is releasing this month https://www.aol.com/articles/stan-lee-final-chapter-launching-151500000.html https://finance.yahoo.com/media-advertising/articles/stan-lee-final-chapter-launching-151500577.html ~2026-38438-34 (talk) 14:36, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
