Missions and sponsors

[edit]

How many missions does this organization have? The article lists two; then, in the case of one, we're told that its mission is to support its mission. There must be a more straightforward way to describe the organization's mission.

Also, if the organization was founded just today, how does it already have a previous fiscal sponsor? Largoplazo (talk) 02:30, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Largoplazo. I encourage you to be bold. If you see a way to improve this new article, please feel free to edit and contribute. :-)
I removed the duplicate mission statement and the use of "previously". --MZMcBride (talk) 02:46, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
I agree with the decision to choose the mission statement that they've published on the official website. --Dodi 8238 (talk) 12:52, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for fixing the {{official}} URL! I noticed my sloppy copying and pasting when I was initially editing/drafting the article and meant to fix it, but clearly forgot. --MZMcBride (talk) 01:24, 23 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Shouldn't this article be moved to Signal Technology Foundation?

[edit]

That's the actual name of the foundation (see the lede paragraph). Their initial announcements called it the Signal Foundation, but that isn't the name that it ended up with. Gnuish (talk) 04:33, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Signal Messenger which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. RMCD bot 00:04, 21 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

The address is a mail drop

[edit]

If you look at Google Street View, 650 Castro Street, Suite 120 is a UPS Store. Unfortunately, I can't publish that in the article for now because that's original research in violation of WP:NOR. But if a WP:RS does publish that fact, then it should be added to the article. Coolcaesar (talk) 21:59, 24 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

That's probably not unusual; if the foundation is nothing but a legal entity which stores donated money for Signal's operations, a small group of volunteers (board members) who meet several times a year may have no physical presence. There are plenty of foundations in support of random PUBLIC elementary or middle or high schools, and they don't pay rent for their own location and have essentially zero physical footprint. ---Avatar317(talk) 21:56, 27 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
