GEQBUS is fake

[edit]

There's no way this is a real nickname nor that anyone has ever called him this 70.15.13.3 (talk) 19:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

It is definitely a legitimate nickname among fans on social media (like Reddit & Twitter/X). Nygjoe13 (talk) 03:43, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yup, GEQBUS (God Emperor QuarterBack of The United States) is a real nickname that I've seen used on reddit and twitter. Obviously being a social media app and a forum they are not reliable sources, so I'd have to go find a reputable secondary source to cite. Anyway, I'm unfamiliar with editing Wikipedia pages so I have no idea if a popular nickname for a sports player belongs on their pages but I'll go see if I can find some precedent for it. Well, the article for the list of NFL nicknames https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFL_nicknames lists GEQBUS as a nickname, and cites a source for it. Plenty of other athletes' article have their nickname somewhere so it might work in this one. I'm still unsure because this nickname is kind of niche and was seemingly created with the exclusive goal of mocking Donald Trump. As funny as that is, I'm not sure it's significant enough to be worth mentioning in this article. Jolebson (talk) 22:25, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Why do you assume that the nickname GEQBUS' goal was exclusively to mock Donald Trump? As a Christian he strives to be a positive role model. I'm sure it is reference to the title of the President of the United States but doesn't have to be reflective of any particular President. ~2026-86374-3 (talk) 17:41, 8 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Might be a little late to the party on this one dude Awhellnawr123214 (talk) 03:45, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Free agent

[edit]

Shouldn’t he at least be marked as a free agent instead of as a Viking. His contract expired.

Sam Darnold finalizing 3 year $100.5M contract with Seahawks. 55M guaranteed. 67.20.3.74 (talk) 02:06, 11 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes, this is indicated in the article. However, his team affiliation will not change until the contract is actually signed, which cannot happen until he is a free agent on Wednesday. ~Darth StabroTalk  Contribs 02:38, 11 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Born in Dana Point?

[edit]

I'm wondering if "born in Dana Point" is accurate. There is no hospital in Dana Point. ~2026-56602-6 (talk) 18:23, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

It appears that the Darnold family lived in Dana Point at the time Sam was born. --Marc Kupper|talk 06:28, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
