Punctuation in the Arabic script
[edit]Arabic did have punctuation; from the oldest manuscript of the Quran used to separate verses, to the newer manuscripts to separate phrases, paragraphs and quotes. To say that "This is a modern innovation; pre-modern Arabic did not use punctuation" is false.
As an example the Birmingham Quran manuscript and this manuscript of Principles of Hindu Reckoning ~2026-17878-62 (talk) 11:14, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
Spanish
[edit]In Spanish, the inverted ! and ? can come inside a sentence, e.g., when the first word of a sentence is the name of a person spoken to (e.g., Marcus) or a form of address (e.g., Señor). Kdammers (talk) 18:22, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
