Misname in lead

[edit]

Patrick Stewart did NOT portray the "eponymous character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)." The eponymous character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would be Doctor Strange himself, and Steward portrayed Xavier in that film, not Strange. Reword this statement as "alternative version of Xavier" or something similar. Woozybydefault (talk) 17:43, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

The original source is pretty specious to begin with, but the current link on citation 147 ("Patrick Stewart An 'Obsessed' Beavis And Butthead Fan") is now dead so was updating to the following archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20221019042028/https://www.contactmusic.com/patrick-stewart/news/patrick-stewart-an-.obsessed.-beavis-and-butthead-fan

(Update 10/13/2025: The update seems to be gone, not sure if that was my own error or a revert but the original citation link is still broken so I am replacing it.)  Preceding unsigned comment added by The everloving grink (talkcontribs) 23:28, 13 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Chancellorship of the University of Huddersfield

[edit]

Please change Prince Andrew, Duke of York to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in line with the recent loss of his rank and title. Thanks! 🖖😊 IllogicalVulcan (talk) 02:29, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: See MOS:SURNAME: If "you're discussing a period of their life before the [name] change, refer to them by their prior [name]." AntientNestor (talk) 08:56, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@AntientNestor Fair enough! Would it be possible to add "(now Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor)". Still having his title there just feels wrong, especially given the things that led to it being stripped from him. ~2026-60808-7 (talk) 11:31, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
There's a Wikipedia guideline for nearly everything. Have a look at WP:OFFTOPIC about irrelevant information. AntientNestor (talk) 12:35, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
