Change in Regional Block

[edit]

kindly change "Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a country in South Asia." to "Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a country in Middle East."

It has been moved from South Asian Category to Middle East by World bank 2026 Middle Eastern update dated report April 2026. reference: https://www.worldbank.org/en/region/mena/publication/middle-east-north-africa-afghanistan-and-pakistan-economic-update)

Along with several articles (https://foreignpolicy.com/2026/04/29/pakistan-world-bank-imf-middle-east-saudi-arabia-india-south-asia/) reporting on this change. Jon Doher001 (talk) 21:52, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Those sources say Middle East and Pakistan. CMD (talk) 03:04, 2 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Addition of source

[edit]

Want to add following to the article: Counterterrorism and countering violent extremism approaches have resulted in some reduction in terrorism.[Gap analysis of Pakistan's non-kinetic responses to violent extremism, Cogent Social Sciences, 2023] HudecEmil (talk) 16:11, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

@SheriffIsInTown HudecEmil (talk) 18:01, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
This is unnecessary and non-encyclopedic content. It does not belong in the country article. The article was trimmed from 16,000 words to 10,000 words, and we are not going to start adding bloat again. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 23:47, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Addition GDP per capita growth

[edit]

Want to add GDP per capita growth value to article. 1.5% in 2024 per World Bank HudecEmil (talk) 16:13, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

The IMF has GDP per capita data for 2025. I do not mind adding it if it is not already there. I think it was already there, but we can double-check it. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 23:49, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Religion update

[edit]

Want to do the following updations

  • About Zikri muslim community
  • About Hinglaj Mata pilgrimage which is the largest in Pakistan

Weichan123 (talk) 12:43, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I do not think these minor communities belong in the country article. There are separate main articles for this purpose, and this content can go there if it is not already there. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 23:51, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Update nominal GDP ranking

[edit]

According to the IMF World Economic Outlook database, Pakistan's nominal GDP is estimated at approximately US$407.79 billion in 2025. Based on the latest IMF rankings, Pakistan is now the 40th-largest economy by nominal GDP rather than 42nd.

Could an editor please review and update the article accordingly if the ranking is no longer current?

Update population in the lead section and the infobox to 247,541,947 as per the complete results of the 2023 census, by adding updated Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir numbers. It has already been updated on the demographics section.
