The edit about the Newfoundland wolf migrating west and breeding itself out of existance is hard to understand. Does this mean it was not isolated to the island of Newfoundland? What happened to the subspecies as it migrated several thousand kilometers across Canada's north, and having to detour around Hudson Bay? This needs more explanation.
