Sidebars can easily clutter a page. In this case, those templates are typically more appropriate for articles on articles to concepts, movements, or foundational thinkers associated with those subjects. Mike Johnson may qualify for one of those sidebars, but we should be discerning when adding them. ~ Pbritti (talk) 16:19, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I had made attempts to add Johnson to the politicians section of the Christian Nationalism sidebar but my edits kept getting reverted because the reverter insisted that I add the sidebar to this page, which I am not able to do. If you go to the other politicians listed in the sidebar you can see the sidebar there. RideTheLightning99 (talk) 16:24, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't see a statement in the Mike Johnson article that clearly states that he is a Christian nationalist. There's some adjacent statements, but a sourced assertion that he is a Christian nationalist would be required to consider adding that sidebar (really, we'd need quite a few sources statements indicating that Christian nationalism is a substantial element of Johnson's politics). Those sources may exist, and I would encourage you to add them here. However, in the meantime, I would encourage you to avoid sidebars—especially current politics sidebars—as they are often intersections of Wikipedia policies that can quickly cause issues for newer editors. ~ Pbritti (talk) 16:38, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe that "Christian nationalist" needs to be explicitly stated, it can be inferred from the "adjacent statements" that you pointed out. As for additional sources, I am currently unable to add them as I am unable to edit the page. RideTheLightning99 (talk) 16:44, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
@GoodDay: I noticed you removed such links across multiple articles. I would encourage you to identify that discussion, as clear indication of its applicability here and to similar articles is relevant if you're making subject area-wide changes. Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 02:28, 15 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if I can find it. I do recall that's why we removed such linkages from bios of US presidents, vice presidents, state governors, lieutenant governors, etc. GoodDay (talk) 03:12, 15 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
