Remove Martin Short as present partner. That relationship has yet to be confirmed by any reputable sources and has in fact been repeatedly denied by both the actors themselves and their respective publicists. Until official confirmation is forthcoming it should remain undisclosed. Corinnia31 (talk) 13:55, 16 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

The section 'one of only three performers to win three Academy Awards across the two acting categories (with Ingrid Bergman and Jack Nicholson being the only others to achieve this feat)' should be amended to:

'one of only four performers to win three Academy Awards across the two acting categories (with Ingrid Bergman, Jack Nicholson and Sean Penn being the only others to achieve this feat)' Maidmarian101 (talk) 11:44, 18 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want made. Day Creature (talk) 14:46, 18 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not necessary, the original section is not sourced either. This is not a formal accomplishment, just a trivial fact. ~2026-28475-37 (talk) 09:11, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

In the sub-section"1970s: Early work and breakthrough", paragraph 6, after the Hoffman quote in the next-to-last sentence which says " I think that she thinks about nothing else, but what she's doing.", add:

[[:File:JG Melon Kramer.jpg|left|thumb|Hoffman and Streep at J.G. Melon in Kramer vs. Kramer.]]

In a tense restaurant scene,Hoffman famously shattered his wine glass against the wall without telling Streep beforehand (only informing the cameraman earlier to keep shooting, so the moment would be captured on film and her reaction would be genuine), sending glass shards into her hair. Streep confronted him immediately afterward for frightening her so badly.[1][2] ~2026-40426-27 (talk) 05:27, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Image removed. Copyrighted images are not decorative, even if you think they have a purpose. Tbhotch™ (CC BY-SA 4.0) 06:00, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Streep started her career acting in numerous productions with The Public Theater
If it does not belong due to its copyright status it is one thing. If the concern is that images are decorative .. I'm not sure, for example, what the image of "Streep started her career acting in numerous productions with The Public Theater" is doing in this article .. (plus of course all images can be accused of being decorative). --~2026-40426-27 (talk) 10:00, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I specifically said "Copyrighted images are not decorative". If you find that image decorative, discuss it with the person who added it. Tbhotch™ (CC BY-SA 4.0) 21:18, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I see. You do not see the image as per se decorative. You just think it is copyrighted, and therefore not appropriate. Do you think the non-free image can be used if it is replaced with a smaller version that is a low resolution screenshot would comply with Wikipedia's non-free content policy Wikipedia:Non-free content and United States copyright law? Also - what do you think of the appropriateness of the image that I point to here - do you see it as appropriate here? --~2026-40426-27 (talk) 22:45, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not done. I don't see what this random anecdote adds to her biography. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 06:10, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
The thought was simply first that it adds as much as the reference in that paragraph to the fact that "Streep spoke to her own mother about her life as a wife with a career," and tied into the relationship between the two which is discussed earlier in the paragraph. And of course it's a .. perhaps the.. key scene in the film.--~2026-40426-27 (talk) 09:57, 29 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
