Shia Islam
[edit]Under Shia Islam, the article says that is is important to pray ASAP after the time begins. I thought that was the difference between Shias and Sunnis on this point; that the urgency was not mandated in Shi'ism—iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 19:01, Apr 26, 2005 (UTC)
You are mistaken. Under all forms of Islam, urgency is VERY important and salat has to be prayed on time no matter what User:abideez786
What about Muslims that live above the polar circle.
[edit]I recently went on a visit to Tromsø, a town in the North of Norway, and at this time of year (June) the sun never sets... for at least 2 months.
What happens then of the evening prayer? And of course, what about the winter when the sun never comes above the horizon for an equal amount of time.
This also has implication for the month of Ramadan should it fall in either Summer (nobody can fast for that long) or Winter.
They are supposed to go by the times of the closest place that DOES have sunset/sunrise. 74.96.215.187 22:29, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Actually, if the Islamic day starts with moon-sighting / sunset, then Maghrib should be the first prayer of the day and not the fourth one as mentioned here Shaad lko (talk) 15:49, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
What have Vespers to do with the muslim prayers ?
[edit]imho this does not really belong here, maybe a general link to all religions prayertimes could be okay, otherwise we could as well add Sunday prayer, Saturday mass, etc etc...
