WW II

[edit]

How did Bernstein avoid military service in WW II? Just wondering...  Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.162.136.248 (talk) 23:31, 4 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

He had asthma (making him medically unfit to serve), which was nicely added to this article recently by User:Minnehaha850. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 17:56, 25 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

"Humanitarian"

[edit]

I just have to wonder: Would somebody that "held an event seeking to raise awareness and money for the defense of several members of the [...]" also be introduced as a humanitarian? A lot of articles on leftist figures read like some sort of hagiography. --105.0.5.191 (talk) 23:51, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

It’s difficult to make sense out of this. The underlying presumptions seem to be that the world cleaves into two parts, “left” and “right”, that one of these is the mirror image of the other, and that it is just as virtuous to be “right” as it is to be “left”. None of these presumptions has anything to do with reality. If you have a complaint about the article, you need to specify clearly, in a straightforward manner, what that complaint actuallly is. What nonsense, he did not support [...] at all, never ever. He supported Black Panther Party. This biography has a heavy bias. It does not mention with one word that he tried — unfortunately without success — to bring the Met to stage Porgy and Bess (with him as the conductor). It does not even mention that he was invited to conduct the Vienna New Year's Concert in 1992. Unfortunately, he died in 1990. Kleiber took over in memoriam.--F12 Harlem (talk) 10:47, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I want to delete this section. It is not fair to throw shit at someone who is dead and cannot answer.--F12 Harlem (talk) 10:51, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
