Removed italicisation
[edit]I removed the italicisation from the term, per the OED adding “kintsugi” as an English loanword, suggesting it has entered non-specialised usage in the English language. There’s no need to treat it as a foreign (Japanese) word on the English Wikipedia.

Originates from ge yao
[edit]I always learned this was a unique technique, but as always, this is a total ripoff of Chinese. This comes from ge yao and should be reflected in the article. 172.56.179.9 (talk) 02:32, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Ge ware is a different thing. It’s a type of pottery where the crackle in the glaze is part of the firing process. It is not a repair mechanism. This can be ascertained by reading each of the articles. Louie Mantia (talk) 02:36, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- I apologize. Please revert my edits then. 172.56.179.9 (talk) 02:39, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- However, to say they are unrelated when one precedes the other by centuries with clear unilateral artistic influence seems a bit ridiculous. 172.56.179.9 (talk) 02:44, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- If there is “clear unilateral artistic influence” I urge you to find a reference to back that claim up. Louie Mantia (talk) 02:46, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
