Opinions needed: merging rows in the "Year" column of the filmography table

In most high-profile filmography tables, the rows in the year column are merged when they're all the same year. Many people have implemented that here, all reverted by a single person, for over a decade. It feels like it's just one person's preference taking precedence over everyone else. Anyways, never mind all that, anyone can give their opinion, which do you prefer:

To say "most" sounds like a stretch (it might surprise you how many others don't implement them), and either way there is no benefit of using rowspans or "merged rows" in filmography tables. The practice of "merged rows" frankly is a needless mess that I wouldn't recommend enabling. Believe it or not, there have been countless times I've seen others remove them from tables on other articles, which to some extent gives the impression that "unmerged rows" option is preferable. Easily merged. Is it not standard? You can filter it to look like it's unmerged if you prefer. It looks clunkier when it is the default, though. jolielover♥talk 18:07, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

Whoever edited the page to insert that was probably seeking an excuse to implement rowspans in some capacity even when there's no benefit to using them for filmography tables. To be blunt, it did little more than enable lots of subpar uses for this and other fields, therefore "year" shouldn't have been given an exemption to begin with. Unsourced filmography

Most of Lawrence's filmography section is unsourced. Sources should ideally be added to this part for easier verification, even if it could be verified in the body. However, some parts of filmography are not verified in the body either. For example:

• Her character's name in Like Crazy is not mentioned in the body and is uncited in filmography (same with Poker House, probably more)
• Cold Case is uncited & not mentioned outside of filmography
• Her characters in Monk & Medium are not mentioned in the body nor her number of episodes/names of episodes; not cited in filmography
• Jimmy Kimmel not mentioned elsewhere

This is from a quick spot check. Seeing these glaring issues, I feel like the entire filmography should be sourced within the section itself, else unsourced info like this persists. This article may be up for FAR if these issues remain unresolved. jolielover♥talk 18:16, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request

1. Original: "For the role, Lawrence received a red dye job and an undercut. In an interview with Vogue, she said that she extensively researched the typical look of aspiring astrophysicists."

The person being interviewed is Susan Matheson, costume designer for Don't Look Up, not Jennifer. It was Matheson who did the research, so I think the second sentence should be deleted. We can keep the first sentence.

2. Original: "The same year, she appeared in the music video for the song "The Mess I Made" by Parachute."

"The same year" refers to 2008, but the song was released in 2009 (per source [30]), while the music video was released in 2010 (YouTube upload date). I think it needs to change to 2009 or 2010.

Also, in the "Music videos" section, the song is listed as 2010. Don't know if it needs amendment to match the source.
