Accident/Incident: President Peres dump from own national airline
[edit]- edit request
Israel President Peres removal himself from national airline flight due to he was going to charged $5,000 excess baggage fee for oxygen tank, which required by government for 88 year old president. So, he switch to Air Canada flight.<ref>http://www.timesofisrael.com/el-als-apology-too-late-as-peres-flies-air-canada/</ref>
why the arabic?
[edit]what s the purpose of putting el al in arabic? why not also in french? just because the state of israel has arabic as official language does not mean that the airline company of el al does. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.98.209.181 (talk) 18:11, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- For a long time El Al was a government carrier. If El Al had never been a government airline the situation would be different. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:08, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- As a note, Arabic was formerly an official language of Israel and is still a recognized language by the government. See Languages of Israel WhisperToMe (talk) 23:57, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
Aircraft registration
[edit]I removed the list of registrations in the fleet section a couple of times but keeps being restored by IPs, note that normal practice and the project advice is that such lists are not notable and have no encyclopedic value. I will remove them again soon unless a consensus exists why this article should be different, thanks. MilborneOne (talk) 09:53, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

Destination map is incorrect
[edit]Elal doesnt fly to south africa and does fly to Japan 85.64.231.20 (talk) 05:53, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
Destination map is still incorrect (as of Jan 2026)
[edit]El Al has suspended direct flights to Beijing, China due to COVID-19 and never resumed. And El Al NEVER operated direct flights to Taiwan, however the user who made this map coloured Taiwan for some reason. JKuroha (talk) 02:16, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
Re: "Continued operation of flights to Russia"
[edit]@Cominhson Stop adding Some unverified rumors suggest that the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Australia and Canada have recognized the Palestinian state, partly in response to El Al maintaining flights to Russia. to the "Continued operation of flights to Russia" section. There's no source backing this up, it has the MOS:WEASEL word "Some unverified rumors suggest that", and in any case it's incredibly unlikely that El Al's operation of flights to Russia would have had any part in these countries' motivations behind their decisions to recognize the Palestinian state. If this is your idea of a joke, it's not a very funny joke, and jokes shouldn't be on a Wikipedia article anyway. Glide08 (talk) 19:05, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
- I don't need to hear you say those things. Ever since Russia was banned from UEFA and FIFA, my soul has been empty, and I've been constantly insecure, anxious, and depressed. And Israel's attacks on Palestine without a ban have only made me more insecure and broken. Cominhson (talk) 04:24, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
- Frankly, you saying this only makes the persistent addition of that phrase (which you now seem to have added with an alt) come out as vandalism even more. Glide08 (talk) 18:14, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Do you see my message, your double-standard man? Cominhson (talk) 04:30, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Is the LAX sticker incident terrorism or is it too "mild" to count?
[edit]@ScottyNolan Even though it is certainly motivated by the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and did cause a huge disruption to the flight (and annoyance to the passengers), I'm not sure whether sticker-bombing passengers' luggage with "Free Palestine" stickers is violent enough to constitute a terrorist incident in and of itself, given that the bags weren't tampered with beyond getting stickered (e.g. by having a bomb inserted into them). Glide08 (talk) 23:07, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'll add that I don't think the sticker incident belongs in the same category as the non-terrorist incidents either, but compared to the ones in the terrorist incident it seems rather mild. Glide08 (talk) 23:10, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for the msgs. I just saw that there is a 'non-terrorist incidents' section. I'll move it there. I didn't think it's terrorism but as 'incident'. Thank you again for flagging this. Have a lovely weekend! ScottyNolan (talk) 23:13, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- You too! But again, I think it more properly belongs in a third category, as something which isn't a terrorist attack but still motivated by the I/P conflict rather than a "normal" accident any airline can have. Glide08 (talk) 23:55, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
