Update needed

HBCU / Alma Mater

[edit]

Deion Sanders himself says he graduated from HBCU. 217.180.228.148 (talk) 03:42, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Just reverted a change that had added FSU as his alma mater, not Talladega College, from where he graduated. Not sure whether college careers are allowed in the "playing career" section, but it would probably help people who are confused why his alma mater is not Florida State University (it's not; he didn't graduate from there and he himself has emphatically said he is not an alum). --Oatnut (talk) 16:56, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hall of fame

[edit]

It shows he is in college hall of fame, but doesnt show pro football hall of fame. Why? Should nt both be shown? 2600:1700:6062:2480:7F27:A131:1C02:8606 (talk) 02:47, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

It looks like the Infobox template for college coaches doesn't have a parameter for membership in the NFL HOF. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_college_coach. Sanders is literally too "outside the box" for Wikipedia to handle! Knorlin (talk) 07:07, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Maybe we condense his coaching awards in a way? I see there is a lot of excess code in there that I can play with and might be able to streamline it. DakotaRW (talk) 02:41, 28 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
No excess code, looked too quick at it originally, Not sure what's wrong. I know the standard coach box doesn't support it, but someone did my idea of just inserting it straight into the source code, but that still isn't working. Someone with better knowledge may have to do it. We could use a different standard box too, but I'm not sure that'd work. DakotaRW (talk) 03:22, 28 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not a Nole

[edit]

Coach Prime is not affiliated with Florida State University (FSU) as he did not graduate from that institution. Instead, in the year 2020, Deion Sanders earned his degree from Talladega College in Alabama. Sanders completed the FASTtrack program, a program designed for busy adults. His baseball teams should be in the infobox

[edit]

They’re still teams he played for. Eg224 (talk) 15:16, 30 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This was the info I came here for. It was odd that his baseball career is ignored in the info box. 2600:1700:975E:E000:8506:D63F:6E3D:5678 (talk) 20:59, 13 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
It’s the football template, I don’t think you can put the baseball and football template in 1cflyer (talk) 00:37, 17 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
