• Nominations by a veteran DYK contributor, including a GA, make for some of the easiest DYK reviews. The Matlock and Dead! articles are new, long enough, and well-sourced. The GA is recent. The image looks very good. I see neither neutrality nor copyright concerns in any of the articles. Could you remind me of the DYK rule allowing for orthography bending outside of April's Fools hooks, Launchballer? I see that the band is often called DEAD! in the cited sources. Perhaps such all caps would be better than either dead! or Dead! in ALT0. Would it be fun and semantically appropriate to replace "formed" with "had" or "has"? The separate alternative hooks are all very interesting too, though it might be kinder to let Sam shine in his own right. I do love the meta element in ALT3. Sorry to keep you waiting on this; I hit a wall shortly between nominating and your comment. (I put Dead! and Sam Matlock together quite quickly.) I don't see anything at WP:DYKG regarding capitalisation but WP:DYKAPRIL suggests it can only be done for hooks on that day. There are some interesting hooks in such as "that Sam Matlock of Wargasm and Dead! has likened paid meet and greets to prostitution", but I'd need to add them to the article. For now, I can suggest ALT3a: "that Wargasm, featuring Dead! guitarist Sam Matlock, have been described as "looking like the Wikipedia definition of modern rock stars"?"--Launchballer 15:35, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

I still like ALT0 best, Launchballer. It is concise and very punchy. The sense of urgency created by the interrobang is irresistible. It drew me in despite the topic being outside my normal zone of interest. What do you think about replacing dead! with DEAD!, as I see it written in some sources? This sentence is a bit of a run-on. It combines two distinct pieces of information. It would be clearer as two separate sentences or by using a semicolon.

In "Also in 2016, Dead! supported Frank Carter, who later became the lead vocalist of the Sex Pistols at Louis's suggestion", does this mean that since 2016 Carter supported Dead, or in 2016 he became the vocalist for Sex Pistols? (it also doesn't mention Carter as a member in Sex Pistols#Band members, just a touring musician.)

Neither. It means they supported Carter in 2016 and that at some later point - which is almost certainly about but I don't believe there's a source that has it that mentions Dead! and is therefore undue - Carter became the vocalist for the Sex Pistols.--Launchballer 17:53, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

The sentence implies that Frank Carter became the official Sex Pistols frontman, but that's not how the source frames it. It omits that at the time, Frank Carter was performing with Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, not as a solo act. It also describes a more informal reunion involving Carter at Louis's suggestion, rather than a formal Sex Pistols lineup change. It may be unnecessary to include Carter's later involvement in Sex Pistols, since this event doesn't tie to Dead!'s career or notability.

• "You're so Cheap" (2018) in Singles list: The "History" section states "by the following month [June 2016], they had moved to London and released 'You're so Cheap' ". However, the "Singles" discography lists "You're so Cheap" as (2018).

"You're so Cheap" appears to have been released in 2016, hence why it's in prose, and given a rerelease in 2018 that received no coverage. I listed it as 2018 in the Discography section as I can't find any evidence the former received an official release rather than, say, a SoundCloud or a YouTube upload, hence why it's listed as that in the Discography section.--Launchballer 12:43, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

If 2016 is the initial release, update the discography to reflect that. If 2018 was a re-release, you can optionally clarify that in the discography.
