Questionable old name

[edit]

did they really call it a wiener? this seems to be an obvious adult joke - Skyetheguy (talk) 16:24, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's just some mild vandalism. Funny, but not suitable for wikipedia, so reverted EthylMethylEther (talk) 16:17, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Merging this article and the voiceless version

[edit]

I propose that we merge both of these articles to Voiced labiodental plosive and Voiceless labiodental plosive. BodhiHarp 17:05, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

They serve different purposes. This page is for information about the symbol and its usages; while the other is a page about a consonant in the IPA, where this symbol is referenced to have been used in a para-IPA fashion. This is the page where an infobox for the symbol should exist, while it should only be mentioned with cited references in the phonetics article, as it is a non-official symbol. oklopfer (💬) 17:35, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
