Article creation

[edit]

Hi All,

Was a witness to several of these parades and festivals--The first year in 2007 was interesting due to the attention about New York City's Cabaret (anti-dance) law that came out of the prohibition era. I do understand that it was not the organizer's intent to make this a political parade but they did receive press from some of the participants who were trying to legalize dancing in a state supreme court case. I didn't include this information in the article and really need to do more research on that aspect. Also the parade organizers are a 501(c)3 non-profit and are not supposed to be doing political lobbying (as in changing the cabaret law)--There is no mention of this on their website and that's why it's more of a parallel story.

Oh, also I wonder if someone could help me to better reference the article--I wasn't sure of which format was preferable. On the create new page instructions, I was directed to put references first but when reading other articles they come last.

Look forward to your edits and ideas!

Thanks,
