Saw this text "During World War II, when so many of Whitey's Lindy Hoppers were serving in the armed forces, Willa Mae managed the Harlem Congeroos, considered Whitey's greatest group. When Frankie Manning returned from the Pacific in 1947, he took over the management and WillaMae continued as a dancer in the group, known simply as the Congaroo Dancers." It sounds to me like it wasn't exactly a group created by Manning, but a continuation of what Whitey had been doing. Anyone have other sources? Steve Pastor (talk) 23:05, 30 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

According to Savoy Style, The Congaroo Dancers came from the Harlem Congaroos, who were "the primo group of Whitey's Lindy Hoppers". It sounds like the Congaroos started as a sub-group of Whitey's Lindy Hoppers, then started to branch away during WWII (when managed by Willa Mae Ricker), then became a separate group in 1947, managed by Frankie Manning.
