Why 242-247 different in VGA?86.148.227.195 (talk) 11:27, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Because this is not strictly CP 866, but some of its variations.--Lüboslóv Yęzýkin (talk) 23:29, 28 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Любослов Езыкин: are you sure the IP referred to Octets_in_CP866_ordered_by_nibbles.png not to something else? I made the pic from an ancient console-tools psf font, most probably Cyr_a8x8. It has some deviations from the standard due to the way console-tools was developed. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 07:01, 29 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
This variant actually existed. At least this was listed by Figurnov in his book (2nd ed., 1992, p.279) as "modified alternative encoding" (модифицированная альтернативная кодировка). I've just wanted to know its origin and where this was actually used. I couldn't trace this, though.--Lüboslóv Yęzýkin (talk) 22:02, 29 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
