By the summer of 36 BC, she had given birth to Ptolemy Philadelphus, her third child and second son with Antony.[253][240] --> change this to her *fourth child and third with Antony* as she had Caesarion, the twins, and then Ptolemy. ~2026-20954-58 (talk) 05:35, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
Not done: The text is referring to Cleopatra's children with Mark Antony. Caesarion was her son with Julius Caesar. Day Creature (talk) 14:08, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
- Correct, the quoted text refers only to her children with Antony. Pericles of AthensTalk 18:13, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
Change topic?
[edit]{{subst:Requested move there were a previous Cleopatra like Cleopatra III which also have a topic of Cleopatra III so to be identifiable this Cleopatra should also be Cleopatra VII}} Yiotro1 (talk) 09:31, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Yiotro1 Per Wikipedia:COMMONNAME, "Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's official name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used", so that's why Cleopatra VII (the one most refer to as "Cleopatra") is titled as such. SonOfYoutubers (talk) 07:16, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, as much as it hurts my pedantic historian brain to name this article simply as "Cleopatra" instead of "Cleopatra VII Philopator" we unfortunately must follow Wiki guidelines for the sake of the general public. It's better that way to avoid confusion (emphasizing that this article is indeed about the Cleopatra everyone knows/talks about). Pericles of AthensTalk 11:36, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
Request to add modern depiction
[edit]I would like to request the addition of a brief modern cultural depiction to this article. Layla Taj is an American Egyptian dance artist and cultural presenter whose multimedia program Journey Down the Nile includes the dance Wings of Isis, in which she portrays Cleopatra VII. This portrayal is already documented in the Layla Taj Wikipedia article and illustrated by an image available on Wikimedia Commons. I would appreciate editors considering whether a brief mention in the Modern depictions and brand imaging section would be appropriate. Timeautoplay (talk) 18:10, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
