Research Information

[edit]

For those that need information about this topic I have found this highly relevant links.

Discusses US FBI investigation, techniques used to take control computers, source of DOS attacks, the use of IRC by Bot herders, Microsoft's involvement, problems of removal bots and how difficult to remove.
  • They claim FBI statistics of about 1 million machines around the world are infected, about new 20 bots are created every day.

All this needs to be confirmed, and cited of course.
