Remove hyperlinks to the Wikipedia page for Bob Ross Inc as the page does not exist. MagicCutlery (talk) 03:20, 28 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Viewership?

[edit]

I have no idea, after reading the article, whether his show had 10 or 10 million viewers. Why not? Isn't that a fairly well-published statistic?~2025-39446-09 (talk) 03:46, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

William Alexander

[edit]

He invented this procedure . Not bob ross ~2026-44786-31 (talk) 23:21, 15 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

The article doesn't say Ross invented it. In fact, the article covers how Ross learned the method from Alexander. Schazjmd (talk) 23:31, 15 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Better photo?

[edit]

I'm not a wiki editor but wouldn't it be helpful to have at least one photo on this page that the casual follower of Ross would recognise? I think it would currently take the average person a while to check they'd found the right Ross ~2026-46789-53 (talk) 08:36, 27 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

@~2026-46789-53 it would; unfortunately, there aren't better images available on commons:Category:Bob Ross. Schazjmd (talk) 13:52, 27 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
We've already been through this a bunch of times. If free content exists, we use free content. Established consensus does not favor the notion that he's entitled to special treatment. Also, your rationale suggests that people don't actually read articles. Why are we here then? There's an endless array of other websites if people just want to gawk at photos. I understand that especially because he is dead, he has no need for a “recent” photo, but I feel like there should be a more recognizable picture, there must be some free ones somewhere on the internet. He didn’t really look like that in any of his shows, a casual viewer would think, “that’s not how Bob Ross looked,” and someone who doesn’t know who he is could get the wrong impression if they saw that picture and then ever encounter any of pictures of him randomly in the future. It’s like taking the page of any recognizable older celebrity and using a picture of them during a time nobody knew them. The main picture should still be included in the article for those interested in reading further, I just don’t think it should be the first impression. ~2026-47225-21 (talk) 00:40, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Every image is by default copyrighted (with limited exceptions) unless the copyright has expired or the image has been explicitly released into the public domain. Unfortunately, this often forces us to use less-than-ideal images (or no image at all). If you can find a public domain image that you think would be a better fit, please upload it to Wikimedia Commons and add it here, but finding one is often harder than one would assume.
