In May 2026, BTS met with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the National Palace in Mexico City during their Arirang World Tour. Mexico is considered one of the most significant international markets for K‑pop, and around 50,000 fans gathered to greet the group as they appeared on the palace balcony. Sheinbaum praised BTS for promoting messages of friendship, peace, and love.

Please update the social media follower statistics under the "Impact:Fandom" section. The current numbers in the article are outdated (from 2020), and updated metrics are verified by mainstream media.

Information to be changed: "As of 2020, some 40 million ARMY members subscribe to the band's YouTube channel, with more than 30 million following the official BTS Twitter and Instagram accounts."

New information to replace it with: "As of June 2026, BTS is the only artist to have amassed 80 million subscribers/followers across each of YouTube, Instagram, Spotify, and TikTok."

I do not believe the reasoning by the one who originally reverted it is inherently correct, and may be swayed by an act of bias towards to group itself, as just because the article is FA, it does not discount it from having legal issues being included (same goes for the NewJeans article). I've reverted, see WP:ONUS and WP:BRD. Undoubtedly a group as prominent as BTS has faced many lawsuits. We might mention an adverse judgment but given WP:BLP we need to be conservative about such things. We are not the news. @Wehwalt: I understand your point, but this is the first time such an allegation has been formally pursued through legal proceedings against the group, as there is no record of a comparable case occurring previously. That makes it more than a routine lawsuit and potentially a notable aspect of the group's history. While I agree that the article should avoid undue detail, I don't think WP:BLP or "we are not the news" justify omitting a well-sourced, legally significant event altogether. The appropriate approach would be to summarize it and in proportion to its significance, rather than exclude it entirely. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk)

Pinging ErnestKrause and Btspurplegalaxy, the other FAC nominators. To answer two of your other points, I have no disinclination to allow negative information about BTS in this article. I have never seen them, and don't actually like their music, I was asked to help out with the writing and sourcing of this article. And every lawsuit, no matter how misguided, is "formally pursued".

These sources also report both the plaintiffs' allegations and Big Hit Music's categorical denial, allowing the matter to be presented in a balanced, attributed manner rather than as fact. That said, I acknowledge that I cannot point to a source explicitly stating this is BTS's first lawsuit or that it has exceptional significance, so I do not intend to rely on that argument. Instead, I think the discussion should focus on whether the breadth and quality of secondary sourcing justify a brief, neutrally worded summary that gives the event due weight while remaining fully consistent with WP:BLP and avoiding undue emphasis.

This issue on law cases seems to come up many times on the Donald Trump page as well. Cases are contemplated, then they are filed, then they may be dismissed, then they may be negotiated, then they may or may not go to court, then they may or may not be appealed. The current issue which is put forward about a single filing in CA seems very preliminary. I'll need to agree with Wehwalt about the preliminary stages of this matter, and at this stage the contemplated edit would need to be much shorter for discussion purposes. Covering the lawsuit case at length on this page seems excessive to me. I think we could just briefly mention it in the bio and link to the dedicated section in the Swim entry.
