Thanks for reviewing this nomination. Based on the editing statistics, the credits should also reflect ~2026-46126-39 as the article creator. I and Boredintheevening helped expand the article as well. — Newslinger talk 07:04, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

    Italian translations

    [edit]

I don't know any Italian so I've had to guess from references and context.

    • Autistici: I supposed that the sense of this in context might be "computer nerds". That seemed unnecessarily informal, so I went with "technical experts".
    • Inventati: Particularly difficult since it is intentionally ambiguous. I translated invèntati/inventàti as "self-starters", as it seems to gesture in the direction of autonomist anarchism with its anti-authoritarian self-organizing approach. However A/I's manifesto says "translat[ing] issues that are part of struggles and their organizing, overcoming the limits and constraints of reality in the digital world", which is not equivalent to "self-starting".
    • Sgamati: Wiktionary defines sgamare as "suss out, find out a secret". But are sgamati those who are found out, i.e. suspects, or are they those who find someone out, as they found out the undercover policeman?

I'd welcome improvements from someone with better language knowledge. ~2026-46126-39 (talk) 04:05, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

    Google Translate translates it as "autistic/invented". ~2026-47101-50 (talk) 06:39, 31 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

To be "sgamato" in this context means resourceful, skillful in finding solutions (or hacks, in the original hacker culture sense). This might be regional jargon, probably in use at least in Milano and Bologna. If you say "[ti ho] sgamato!" to someone then it means "you've been caught/found out/etc." but that's presumably not the case here. Nemo 16:52, 31 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

    Which reference style

    [edit]

The references mix two different styles, as @Newslinger noted when adding the unclear citation style template (diff). The creator of the page used the notes and bibliography style, but several people have added references using the automated system in the visual editor which is a different style. I find the short ref style harder to read (you have to click multiple times to get to the actual reference) and harder to edit because you can't use the visual editor, so I would prefer to use that style throughout the article. But the standard is to accept whatever style the article is already in unless a concensus to change styles is reached.

Can we agree upon a style? Either to keep the short notes (WP:CITESHORT and standardise to that, or to switch to the more common inline citations (WP:INLINECITE). The latter would require more work now but might be easier to maintain since 95% of Wikipedia articles use that style. Lijil (talk) 20:37, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

{{sfn}} made sense for citing multiple pages of Autistici/Inventati (2017), but as of now, that is only one of the 40+ sources cited in this article, most of which are single-page web sources. I support changing the article's citation style to inline citations with Citation Style 1 templates such as {{Cite web}}, as this is the citation style with the best support in VisualEditor and (from what I have seen) newer editors have an easier time with CS1 templates than {{sfn}}. — Newslinger talk 13:00, 13 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yes, let's please get rid of this sfn stuff. ~2026-42392-14 (talk) 01:02, 20 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Weird section "Data breach and mapping of NoBlogs (2026)"?

    [edit]

The section Data breach and mapping of NoBlogs (2026) seems a bit fishy to me (e.g. it explains multiple times what NoBlogs and A/I is, despite this being the topic of the article). Does any else also feel that and/or have a clue about what might be going on (e.g. just a harmless inexperienced editor (it's by an IP address, so that's not too far-fetched sounding to me), liberally copy-pasted from some source(s), output of AI, …) and how/if it should be fixed?
