I do not understand this comment: "It is the basis of two classical and important theorems, the Fredholm alternative and the Hilbert–Schmidt theorem.". To me this theorem is about families of operators. There is obviously a link with these other two theorems, but I wouldn't say "it is the basis of", which is ambiguous (is it "analytic fredholm can be derived from theorems X and Y" or "theorems X and Y can be derived from analytic fredholm").
