Martin Njøten Palumbo (born 5 March 2002) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Serie B club Avellino. Palumbo has represented both Norway and Italy internationally at youth level.
Club career
[edit]In 2011, Palumbo joined Udinese's youth system.[2] He made his professional debut for the club on 2 August 2020 against Sassuolo.[3] Five days later, he extended his contract with Udinese until 2025.[2] On 27 August 2021, Palumbo joined Juventus' U23 squad on loan with an option to buy.[4] On 12 September, Palumbo debuted for Juve U23s in a 1–0 defeat against Pro Patria.[5] On 16 May 2022, he was called up to the first team for a home match against Lazio,[6] where he made his debut as a substitute.[7] On 18 June, Juventus decided not to exercise their option to buy.[8] However, on 1 September, he returned to Juventus U23s,[9] who had changed their name to Juventus Next Gen on 26 August.[10]
On 21 January 2025, Palumbo joined Serie C club Avellino on loan with a conditional obligation to buy,[11] with whom he signed a contract until 2028.[12]
International career
[edit]Palumbo was born in Norway to an Italian father and a Norwegian mother, and moved to Italy at the age of three.[13] He holds both Norwegian and Italian passports and has represented both countries as a youth international.[14]
