I have done a source assessment for the article as it is as of 10/21/2025 (Permalink).
As the article currently stands, there are three articles from two sources that can wholly contribute to establishing notability. and eight articles from six other sources that can partially contribute to notable. I think the article is close to meeting the general notability guidelines, if it does not already meet them.

- I think https://tribune.com.pk/story/2511824/harassment-allegations-surface-after-minecraft-youtuber-iskall85-resigns is also a good source for this. The Express Tribune seems to be a reliable major newspaper. Obsidian the Fox 02:15, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
Definitly feels insane to me that a group with as much (internet) culture weight as Hermitcraft doesnt have its own page. Since the last audit, ~6 months ago, there have been some significant artiles about hermitcraft (rather than the SMP members), primarily about their outreach work: 1) https://www.khaosodenglish.com/life/socialmedia/2026/08/19/hermitcraft-charity-brings-thailands-first-hospital-gaming-go-kart/ 2) https://www.thelamron.com/arts-and-entertainment/the-hermitcraft-charity-event-and-17-million-raised-for-gamers-outreach 3) https://www.superjumpmagazine.com/hermitcraft-hermits-speak-about-the-new-season/
Would it be useful for me to take a bash at updating, and integrating some new articles? Corhen (talk) 22:52, 10 September 2026 (UTC)
- I was thinking the other day that I should do another source assessment and maybe try re-submitting it for creation. At this point, I don't think there is any problem with the sources. The problem is that years ago, Hermitcraft articles repeatedly got created and then deleted for not having any sources, and creating a new article on the mainspace got blocked. Most if not all the sources cited in the draft have been written since then. Theoretically, an article getting deleted for lack of notability shouldn't have any impact on creating a new article once the subject does become notable, but in practicality, it does. Almost a year later, I have done another source assessment. I believe that there are now enough sources to establish notability. While re-doing the source assessment, I found a couple of questionable sources that should probably be removed. I will work more on this tomorrow. GranCavallo (talk) 01:07, 11 September 2026 (UTC)
Potentially notable source assessment 9/27/2026
[edit]Here are three top sources that potentially meets WP:GNG and WP:100WORDS:
- La Repubblica; a national Italian newspaper and listed in WP:News sources/Italy; entire article about Hermitcraft and at least 145 words (untranslated) of relevant content.]
- Lancaster University published PhD thesis (PDF archive); about 742 words of relevant content.
- FANMADE magazine; entire article about Hermitcraft. Although User:Athanelar said,
This one isn't terrible. I wouldn't call it great either, especially considering it's from a site which describes itself as made by fan creators, for fan creators. I'd be fine with this with some other good sources to support it.
And here are 5 more candidates:
- StudyBreaks (general student news site WP:RSSM); about 422 words of relevant content.
- A research paper abstract (in page 68); entire paper about Hermitcraft.
- Eastern Regional High School student news website (WP:RSSM); entire article about Hermitcraft.
- University of Michigan student newspaper (WP:RSSM; 112 words of relevant content.
- PC review website; author has since worked for PCGamesN and GamesRadar+. 180 words of relevant content.

Dr. Kim Barbour, a media scholar from Adelaide University, has 4 presentations related to Hermitcraft:
- Improvisation, collaboration, and post-production storytelling in episodic YouTube series Hermitcraft (no link available)
- Playing politics in Minecraft: Monarchy, rebellion, and just staying out of it in YouTube series Hermitcraft (links to research paper/presentation abstract)
- Hermitcraft as collaborative emergent transmedia storytelling: Crafting narrative through player interaction and identity (discusses an incident which brought the server to social media)
- Dynamic intimate selves in platformed gaming worlds (she discusses Hermitcraft on 48:46-1:11:34)
After I searched for "hermitcraft" on the Irish Independent, it returns this result, but it's paywalled:

For the last citation, Women and Persona Performance, the book's sample was deemed non-significant by User:Athanelar because it discusses Minecraft YouTubers in general, not Hermitcraft. But, in page 136-140, some of which isn't available on the book sample, there's a table (page 136) that shows the list of players the author analyzed, and three of the Hermits (at the time), PearlescentMoon, Stressmonster101, and ZombieCleo, are listed. Then, the author discusses their skin design (and one more Hermit for this one, FalseSymmetry) and behavior for two paragraphs (the aforementioned Hermits except FalseSymmetry specifically get mentioned for a paragraph), and then discusses the aforementioned Hermits' builds for a paragraph.
...PearlescentMoon completed an extensive terraforming task producing a mountain range in her video, she flew around the location, saying,
'And yes, I did build the back.'
(PearlescentMoon's Season 8: Episode 7 (20:02))
Taking advantage of Minecraft’s
mapping tools, ZombieCleo worked to redevelop a large-scale typeface for an in-game newspaper; ...ZombieCleo’s episode also demonstrated her facility with ingame sculpture as she used a data pack to produce highly detailed armour stand elements...
(ZombieCleo's Season 7: Episode 10)
This might be significant coverage if combined with the occasional mention in the book sample.
I did not include https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-030-59908-9 because the relevant pages that discuss Hermitcraft, 99 and 179, are fully accessible through the book's sample at Google Books.
@Bonadea, I did mean that the full version will be restored if the draft is accepted. But what didn't mean is to restore the full version without edits. As I changed the condensed version to add more promising sources, I forgot or didn't care to mention that. If the draft is accepted, the full version will be reviewed and merged case by case, step by step, with edits if needed, and it will include the condensed version's new citations if appropriate.
