Starfire! is an upcoming American animated superhero television series based on the eponymous character from DC Comics. Produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation, the series tells the origin story of Koriand'r / Starfire and her adventures with an alien group. Hynden Walch stars in the title role.
An animated series focused on Starfire was announced by DC Studios in February 2025, with Josie Campbell attached.
Premise
[edit]The series follows the origin story and adventures of Koriand'r / Starfire while using an ancient spaceship to escape from her planet Tamaran and explore space with a group of aliens.[1]
Voice cast and characters
[edit]- Hynden Walch as Koriand'r / Starfire: An alien from the planet Tamaran who uses an ancient spaceship to escape and explore space[1]
- Crush: A space biker[1]
- Fern: A plant lover[1]
- Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld[1]
Also set to appear are Starfire's sister Blackfire, and the space biker Lobo.[2]
Production
[edit]Development
[edit]In February 2025, DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran announced that it had greenlit three "younger-skewed" animated series—Starfire!, My Adventures with Green Lantern, and DC Super Powers—that were being co-produced with Warner Bros. Animation and executive producer Sam Register. The former was based on the DC Comics character Koriand'r / Starfire. Josie Campbell, a writer and producer for several DC animated series including My Adventures with Superman, was set to executive produce the series while Brianne Drouhard was a co-executive producer.[1] Austin Reinkens will be art director for the series. He told Animation Magazine in March 2026, that work on the series involved "11-minute action comedies...chock-full of designs that need to be created in a short period" and said production schedules are "ultra tight," so he had to ensure neither he, nor other members of his team, experienced burnout.[3]
Casting
[edit]In June 2026, it was confirmed that Hynden Walch would reprise her role from previous DC media as Starfire.[4]
Music
[edit]The theme song will be performed by Puffy AmiYumi; the duo previously performed the theme song for the DC animated series Teen Titans (2003), which featured Starfire as one of the lead characters.[2]
Release
[edit]Starfire! will be released as part of the "DC Elseworlds" label.[5]
