Brian Zane Schiedel (born January 10, 1985), is an American YouTuber and professional wrestling manager, commentator, and semi-retired wrestler. He is known for his commentary videos on wrestling-related topics on his channel Wresting With Wregret, for his time in Ring of Honor (ROH) and West Coast Wrestling Connection under the name Brian Zane[2], and his appearances in Juggalo Championship Wresting (JCW) as Claude[3].

His YouTube channel Wrestling With Wregret is notably popular[4][5][6] among wrestling fans[7] and performers[8]. The channel has content ranging from video essays, countdown lists, overlooks of professional wrestling-adjacent media, and reviews of modern and past wrestling events.[9]

While attending the University of Oregon[10], Schiedel began training under "Playboy" Buddy Rose and Colonel DeBeers to be a professional wrestler in 2005[8]. He made his debut on November 19, 2006[11] in West Coast Wrestling Connection (WCWC)'s student battle royal in Salem, Oregon under the name Brian Zane. Zane achieved his first victory on January 14, 2007 in an eight man Tag Team match[11]. He would also make appearances for Portland Wrestling and Championship Pro Wrestling around this time.

In 2007, while still an active wrestler, Zane would become the manager of Rollin 2 Deep (Cadillac Caliss & Wildcard), leading them to the WCWC Tag Team Championship[12]. On August 19, 2007 Zane would act as an interim champion for Rollin 2 Deep in a losing effort to Billy & Bobby Jenkins. While Zane would be stated as the champion before this bout, WCWC does not list him as an official champion[12].

Zane would continue to consistently perform in matches until 2008, where he would transition into a managerial and commentating role.

Managing, commentating, and occasional in-ring returns (2008-present)

After retiring from full-time wrestling, Brian Zane would fully transfer to a managerial and commentating role. He would continue to work for WCWC, leading various wrestlers under his stable Z-Man Enterprises. Wrestlers involved in the stable included Domestic Partnership (Bobby Fletcher & Deryck Crosse), who Zane led to the WCWC tag team championship in 2009.

In 2017, Zane would manage the Classic Connection (Buddy Royal and Levi Shapiro) into winning the All Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship. He would attempt to further assist them in a handicap match against Lion Power (Marcus Lewis and Will Hobbs), only to take the losing pin-fall.[13]

In 2018, Zane would debut the Wrestling With Wregret YouTube Championship. This inter-gender championship is defended across independent promotions such as All Pro Wrestling and POW! Pro Wrestling. Levi Shapiro would become the first champion on August 17, 2018. Notable holders of this championship include Allie Katch and Zicky Dice.[14]

In 2021, Zane would be announced as the new commissioner of POW! Pro Wrestling[10], officially taking the role on January 22, 2022. During his tenure as commissioner, Zane has: feuded with Nick Radford,[15] hosted a Mystery Science Theater 3000 tribute with Danhausen[16], overseen the continual defending of the Wrestling With Wregret YouTube Championship, and returned to wrestling in a match against inaugural Wrestling With Wregret Youtube Champion Levi Shapiro.[17]

Ring of Honor (2019-2021)

On September 27, 2019 Zane would make his Ring of Honor (ROH) debut at Death Before Dishonor[18], where he conducted an interview with Beer City Bruiser and Brian Milonas. Zane’s involvement continued into ROH’s television and online content following the event[2], where he was used as an interviewer[19] and commentator[20]. Notable matches he commentated for include the Pure Championship match-up between Josh Woods and Brian Johnson at Final Battle 2021 and the World Championship match at Gateway to Honor 2020[21]. Zane would also begin hosting Ring of Honor talent on his YouTube channel, which included Danhausen, PCO, and Dalton Castle among others. Zane would not appear again after Ring of Honor's 2021 hiatus; he confirmed the end of his contract on an October 27, 2021 live stream.

Juggalo Championship Wresting (2025-present)

After having previously had JCW owners Insane Clown Posse (Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J) as guests on Wrestling With Wregret[22], Schiedel would begin making appearances on JCW Lunacy as Claude. Claude is an eccentric French artist who acts as a manager and interviewer. First appearing throughout June of 2025, Claude would serve as a manager for Don Furio. As Claude, Schiedel would be presented with the "Most Irritating Of The Year" award from the JCW Lunacy Year-End Awards.[23] At JCW Stranglemania 2026, Claude would serve as the guest referee for the Mickie Knuckles vs. Kerry Morton Kamikaze Death Match[3].

Wrestling With Wregret

On Jun 13, 2013 under his Brian Zane moniker, Schiedel would begin to upload videos to his YouTube channel Wrestling With Wregret. The first video focused on the wrestler Muhammad Hassan. On his channel, Zane posts commentary videos about his opinions on current topics as well as reviews and interviews. The channel would attract notable attention[24] over the years[4][5][6][7], from wrestling fans and wrestlers alike[8]. Notable guests to the channel include wrestlers the Insane Clown Posse, Maven, Danhausen, PCO, Michael Modest, Effy, Dalton Castle, Cody Rhodes[25][8], as well as non-wrestlers such as Jim Cornette, Mega Ran, and other YouTubers[26]. The channel would pass 100,000 subscribers in 2016.[27] Notable popular videos include his tasting of Chris Jericho's sparkling wine with sommelier Dave Grayden[28], coverage of ill-fated promotion Wreslticious[24], and his video on the "Top 8 Worst Heel Turns"[29]

In 2022, Zane would cut ties with frequent Wrestling With Wregret collaborator James Briggs[7]. This was in response to Briggs supposed support of transphobic posts on Facebook. Zane released a statement, saying: "James’ actions were very hurtful and don’t reflect my values or those of the channel. Transphobia has no place in wrestling".[7]

Personal Life

Zane grew up in Oregon and is Jewish[30]. He has a wife and two children. Zane is autistic, which he believes contributes to his passion for professional wrestling[9].

In 2018, Zane appeared in the independent film Parts Unknown[31].
