Bagchi (Bengali: বাগচী, romanized: Bāgcī), is a surname of Persian origin (Persian: باغچی, romanized: Bāġčī, lit. 'gardener, keeper/caretaker of the garden') found primarily among the Bengali Brahmin caste of the Indian state of West Bengal and Bangladesh. The surname originated from the Varendra region of Bengal.[1]
