This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Michigan. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Michigan|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Michigan. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Article on a non-notable politician (fails WP:NPOL as merely a candidate for office). All coverage is in the context of his surprise primary election victory, with no evidence of any sustained notability. Should be redirected to 2026 United States House of Representatives elections in Michigan#District 8 (with relevant coverage of his primary victory added there). (EC):The question is not whether he's had a remarkable life before his surprise win in the primary. The question is whether he is notable now by WP:GNG. The case for GNG is that there have been many articles in very reliable sources about him and his surprise victory. I've only put 4 RS's in the references (why try to bludgeon the process?). And he is the official Republican nominee for a US congressional seat - both he and the party agree on that). Here are the RS refs in the article now:

Draftify - current active political candidate who has already garnered some unusual coverage - I don't feel like we should delete or redirect away this work considering he's a current candidate with a reasonable chance of becoming notable, and merging would make little sense considering the format of elections pages - At the same time, he definitely also doesn't meet notability. so Draftify. Draftify per Jishara's suggestion above, which seems like a balanced way to deal with this article. As we have said many, many times, merely running for office does not automatically confer notability, and we have taken an appropriately skeptical view of mere candidates for office. Unless and until the subject actually wins or receives significantly greater attention than he's received so far, he doesn't pass GNG. Alternatively, redirect. delete author of many how-to books, but the sourcing used now in the wiki article is primary, or sites to buy these books. I see no book reviews that would pass AUTHOR, nor any literary awards won. Doesn't not pass notability here. Oaktree b (talk) 15:01, 7 August 2026 (UTC)reply

Windsor–Detroit Bridge Authority

Comment: This merge was proposed 10 years ago but had only minimal discussion then. I'm not pushing either way. For examples of articles on bridge authorities whose sole task is to manage a single bridge, see:
- Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority
- Blue Water Bridge Authority (defunct)

On the other hand, for titles of bridge authorities that redirect to the respective bridge, see:

- Thousand Islands Bridge Authority
- Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority
