This article was created by the same editor who created this other article about the same person years earlier. This article is being nominated because I am of the belief that it misspells the name of the subject of these articles and that the older article correctly spells their name.   I overturned Bearcat's closure on procedural grounds because new formal merge proposal should indeed be opened at AfD. Following the March 2026 RfC, formal merge discussions are now only held at AfD rather than the historical Proposed article mergers process (PAM). There is no other venue for formally proposing a merge. Even if the nominator proposed to delete the article, WP:AFD4 says: (emphasis supplied)

  If an AfD discussion is already open but you would like to propose an alternative target (e.g., propose a reverse merge) or outcome (e.g., merge the article instead of deleting it), do not create a second nomination. Instead, consider contributing to the open
  discussion.
