Use

WikiProject Outlines participants should:

Place their user names on the list of participants, and
Place the following Wiki markup on their user page:

This template displays the following userbox on your user page:

This user participates in WikiProject Outlines

and adds your user page to Category:WikiProject Outlines participants.
A nocat=true parameter may be used to inhibit the declaration of this category.
