Are heat flux/water flux "processes"?

Under "Manufacture and characteristics", water flux is described as a physical "process". My understanding, from reading the article on heat flux and some of the cited paper in the reference article, is that (either type of) flux is a measurement (or property) of a system - similarly to temperature - rather than a specific process. Further, the paper only seems to claim that water flux determines the length of pellets - not their whole shape; in particular it doesn't necessarily make them cubical, contrary to what the phrasing here seems to imply.

Changed "shape" to "length". Not a scientist and potentially about to show my ignorance, but both heat flux and flux talk about "a flow of energy" and that strikes me as a process. I may ask about this somewhere else.--Launchballer 13:55, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
