The River Bourne

Under Geography in reference to the River Bourne it is stated that "It runs through a number of ponds, particularly to the south. Chief amongst these are Great Meadow Pond and Obelisk Pond". A brief look at the map will show that it cannot run through both. They lie on different streams although it is not clear which is the Bourne. treesmill (talk) 12:15, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Included in SSSI?

The article states contradicting information on the parks inclusion in the Site of Special Scientific Interest register. The introduction states that the park is considered SSSI, while the section "Wildlife" states the inclusion is being discussed. Would be nice to clear this up and add the newest information on the topic. Stiptop (talk) 10:18, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The claim that it's already part of an SSSI is supported by a reliable source, so that seems correct. The source for "It is currently considered for inclusion in the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) register due to the diversity of fungi" is a report that includes assessments of whether the park meets the threshold for consideration as an SSSI for various different types of fungi. I don't know enough about how SSSIs work to know, but is it possible that a site can be considered an SSSI for some things while not (yet) for others?
