Kade
[edit]Quay is also used in Dutch, where it evolved to "kade". Since this article goes pretty deep into the ethymology (and rightfully so) perhaps that's worth mentioning? PizzaMan ♨♨♨ 13:08, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
Wharf. A backronmy for 'Warehouse at river front'?

I was on a Thames river cruise a few days ago. The commentary referred to a wharf stands for 'Warehouse at river front'. I wasn't sure how I could add this to the article without it coming across as original research. Any ideas please? - Seriously. Its something I am not making up. We enjoyed the cruise generally but when I heard Wharf being mentioned as 'Warehouse At Riverfront' I was a bit startled as I've never heard of that before, so when I googled it, its incorrect as you stated. I was tempted to add it to the article but I didn't want it to come across as original research or 'The Truth'. Anyway thanks for getting back to me. I won't add it to the article. Thanks again.
