Grape ≠ commercial brand

[edit]

I think it is important to mention that Vranec or Vranac is type of grapevine that has different origin than origin mentioned in the text. Macedonia and Montenegro are maybe current the most famous producers of wine from this kind of grape, but that grape originally coming from area around river Morava, Serbia. Also this kind of wine is produced by serbian wineries, so it is not just FYR Macedonia or Montenegro product. 80.202.25.218 20:54, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lead image replacement

[edit]

I replaced the lead image of a Tikveš-branded Vranec wine bottle with a freely licensed photograph of a Vranac grape cluster. The article is about the grape variety itself, while the previous image showed a finished commercial product from a single producer. A direct photograph of the grapes more clearly and naturally represents the subject of the article, in accordance with MOS:IMAGERELEVANCE, MOS:LEADIMAGE, and WP:IUP, while also avoiding unnecessary visual prominence for one commercial brand. Update based on current scientific sources

[edit]

I have made a substantial update to the article to bring it closer to current academic and peer-reviewed research on Vranac and related Montenegrin grapevine varieties. The previous version included some unsourced statements, subjective wording, difficult-to-verify references, and sources that did not appear to directly support the article text. I revised the article with WP:V, WP:RS, WP:NPOV, and WP:OR in mind, aiming to improve verifiability, neutrality, source quality, and consistency with the current scientific literature. I can provide specific explanations for individual removals or changes if other editors have questions. VitisArchivum (talk) 07:12, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
