Remove picture from article?

In the gallery, there is a picture of Ausangate, as seen from Vinicunca. I feel that this should be removed, since the picture depicts Ausangate. 你好... (Community Centre) 04:11, 1 October 2022 (UTC)

False color image

The image used in this article depicts a highly saturated and misleading photograph of the mountain. The mountain has stunning banding and coloration, but this picture is extremely edited. The image should be exchanged for a true color image. 136.26.96.238 (talk) 20:57, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

Newly added statement needs verification

A recently added statement needs more verification. I am having rouble finding a reliable source for the statement:

"These colors were revealed after the glaciers covering the mountain melted in recent years, making Vinicunca a prominent tourist attraction. localtrekkersperu.com+2".

A person could remove "localtrekkersperu.com+2" as an unreliable source and instead use:

Ballard, Lisa (2020) "The Disappearing Rainbow Mountain: Pilgrims Flock to a Magical Peak in Peru that a Melting Glacier Revealed Four Years Ago," Appalachia: Vol. 71: No. 2, Article 3.

But is Ballard (2020) a reliable source? For one matter, this article does not present any citations / sources. It also appears in a popular club newsletter, which may not vet its articles. Paul H. (talk) 01:12, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
