Noah's ark

@Randy Kryn: I strongly suspect that this is the only example of lower case because you have systematically eradicated all the others. The reason it should be lower case is because that's how I originally wrote it and there is no compelling reason to change it. The relevant policy is MOS:STYLEVAR. Yes Srnec, I think I caught the very last few lowercasings and uppercased those links, you're welcome. I'll leave you be with this one though as it seems important to you, A major reason I uppercased Wikipedia's linked uses of Noah's Ark is that it's a proper name, at least Wikipedia uppercases it. I'll gather the n-grams here, haven't checked them as yet, maybe you're right. What crossed my mind is that you may have lowercased Noah's Ark because that is how it appears on the map? Recent n-grams it comes out to roughly 85% uppercased, so a proper name in Wikipediaspeak and the article is correctly cased. But like I said, I won't revert, as editors and readers may be thinking that's how it's presented on the map. Randy Kryn (talk) 23:35, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

Thanks. That shouldn't make a difference, cited sources often disagree with Wikipedia casing. My point is how it is written on the map itself, the topic of this article, which could be enough to let this proper name pass as not a proper name but just an average run-of-the-mill ark. I don't know anyone who has built an ark, maybe one of Noah's relatives (which include all of us if the story is to be believed) can start up an artbuilding company and continue the family business.
