I'll get this one. For the record, I think it's been enough time since your review of my Pennywise GAN that it should be OK to review this. Expect in-depth comments soon.

Commentary from previous GAN

Here I'll assess how well you have responded to the previous reviewer's comments. Courtesy ping to @Kusma as the previous reviewer.

Comment from GA2Sufficiently addressed?Additional comments
Lack of clarity on the Time Lords as a species, as well as how individual Time Lords are treated compared to Time Lord societyYesThe appearances section deals mostly with the different variations of the Doctor, but enough mentions are given to other Time Lords where this is not a problem to me.
Focus more on the differences between writersYesNot sure if it needs to focus more on this than it already has; I can tell there is an effort made to differentiate between the Time Lords of different periods.
OR concernsExample
Is Time Lord society explained more in spin-offs?Maybe
  • However, many of these accounts are contradictory and do not align with events portrayed in other media. How? Can you go into more detail as to what is contradictory about this?
  • This story was depicted across multiple pieces of spin-off media, including novels, audio dramas, comic strips, and real-world immersive events. How exactly were the Time Lords portrayed in these spin-offs?
Omission of regeneration in the scholarly analysis sectionYesRegeneration is not mentioned at all, but this was discussed with other Doctor Who editors and it was decided it wasn't needed. I don't see any comparison to other sci-fi stories.
Noting in advance that I've discussed the regeneration issue with other users including an active Doctor Who-space editor and the majority of them agreed with me that the regeneration issue was something that was not needed for the article. This was something I respectfully disagreed with when talking to the prior reviewer, and I can link to a few discussions I've had with them about it if need be. I can also elaborate on my rationale if it is helpful, but I believe I outlined myself clearly in prior discussions in the past.
I'll take your word for it. As an outsider, I do still think discussing regeneration here would be helpful, but I won't require it as part of a GAN. Gommeh 📖   🎮 15:51, 7 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
On the contradictions point, what I mean is, for example, the lore of the Other and Pythia being discussed in context of the novels' lore of the Time Lord, while this lore contradicts with later lore explained on-screen. I forget if the sources give those particular examples, but hopefully it clarifies what I mean and will allow you to give a clearer image of what to clarify here. Let me know how you feel this can be changed to clarify it further.
Great. Have another look at the sources and, if they do give any examples like that, please cite them. Gommeh 📖   🎮 15:51, 7 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'll take a look into Time Lord Victorious's events to see if I can find some more specific summary of the Time Lords' role. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 15:45, 7 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Source spot check
[edit]

I'll check a random assortment of sources and see if they back up the claims made using them.

  1. Source #10: 10a ; 10b (I don't see a mention of the Academy anywhere in that source), 10c , 10d , 10e , 10f , 10g (couldn't find it, but I'm assuming it's on a page I have no access to)
  2. Source #14:
  3. Source #16: While it does come from a reliable source, it doesn't outright say that Time Lords can change their species; rather, it says they can disguise themselves as humans instead. Perhaps this needs to be reworded.
  4. Source #20:
  5. Source #31: 31a , 31b , 31c (The War Master is not mentioned)
  6. Source #33:
  7. Source #42:
  8. Source #55:
  9. Source #56: (side note: you may want to optionally look at the last name field for this one)
  10. Source #74:
  11. Source #83:
  12. Source #89: (side note: is this source really needed? It feels unconnected to the rest of the paragraph)

Overall looks pretty good, just fix the issues at sources #10 and #16 and we'll be good to go. Gommeh 📖   🎮 15:37, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Gommeh added a citation to 10b to clarify the Academy. Reworded 16; while the previous way I worded it is how it's used in canon, I've elected to reword for source accuracy since that's how most sources describe it.
I've elaborated on Time Lord Victorious with what sources I could find, and additionally gave an example based off the cited source for the one you wanted an example on. Let me know if anything else needs to be done. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 16:57, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
