Chronology
[edit]Does anyone have access to the dates the individual members formed part of The Ikettes? It would be interesting to have them in brackets after their names. Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 09:12, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Question
[edit]I don't pretend to know anything about this song, but don't they sing "Gon' gon' gon'...," as in "I'm blue, you're gon(e)'...?"
"Stiffed" stuff
[edit]This article is written like casual record-review magazine copy, all about "stuff" and "stiffed." I have no interest in rewriting it, but i will drop a note here. It is badly written and not encyclopedic in the least. 75.101.104.17 (talk) 05:13, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

[edit]"Mostly unheralded, they were arguably one of the ten top R&B female groups of all time." Do we need this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.64.74.12 (talk) 21:59, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello,
I would like to respectfully request that Kiesha Wright (also known at the time as Mary Bennett) be added to the list of Ikettes. Kiesha performed and worked with Tina Turner in 1976 as part of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue.
Her performance and background have been verified through professional documentation and historical records. Kiesha has continued to honor Tina Turner’s legacy through her live shows and tribute performances as “Tina Turner Mania.”
Additional proof and verified information .
Kiesha’s musical history, talent, and lifelong dedication to performing are a true reflection of the Ikette legacy and spirit.
Thank you for your time and for helping honor the legacy of the Ikettes.
Respectfully,
Her sister, Ella Lou Wee (LookalikeIkettetteKiesh Lookalikeikettettekiesha (talk) 06:10, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
verification for kiesha wright(formerly Mary Bennett-formerIkette
[edit]Hello Binksternet,
I just wanted to clarify that I, Kiesha Wright, performed with Ike & Tina Turner as an Ikette under the name Mary Bennett in 1976–1978.
Here is a reliable newspaper article mentioning me and my history with the group: https://www.timesheraldonline.com/2018/11/22/november-22-vallejo-ae-source-keisha-does-tina-at-empress/
My official website for additional reference is: tinaturnertributekieshawright.com
Thank you for your time and for reviewing this information Lookalikeikettettekiesha (talk) 20:06, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- Definitely not an Ikette. The Times Herald source says there was a brief stint paid as a dancer and singer but that it didn't work out, and the official membership never happened. More in-depth reliable sources are needed to show that this fact is important to the topic. Binksternet (talk) 22:12, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
