Sukkari (pronounced with a short 'i' sound in Qassim), is a type of date, famous in the Qassim region. It comes in two varieties: one yellow and the other red, which is called Red Sukkari.

It is well-known and famous in the Qassim region, and Huwailan is the home of the first palm tree of this type.[1] This variety of dates, according to the writer Sulaiman Al-Hadithi, was known in the city of Basra more than 1200 years ago, and then, centuries later, it spread to the Qassim region due to settlement and became famous there.[2]
