His last name was probably spelled thusly: Mackaye. His son wrote his biography titled Steele Mackaye: A Memoir (New York, 1911). Superslum 01:44, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes; several biographies devoted to his son, Benton MacKaye, stress the fact that the last syllable rhymes with "eye" or "high". María (habla conmigo) 02:15, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
