Make the incident it's own story

Dueling vs Racing
[edit]While this coaster has a racing format, "dueling" is used more prominently in the most reputable reliable sources, especially when describing the type of coaster. Racing is occasionally used as well, but it is typically reserved for describing the experience instead of the type. So while you could call this a racing or dueling coaster, racing is a broader term that is less specific. On the other hand, dueling communicates more information to the reader, of which the ride's signature Celestial Spin element represents.
Bottom line: expert sources favor "dueling" over "racing". I'll be adding these to the article:
- Amusement Today (p.20) – "
...glowing portals and hum of the Stardust Racers dueling coaster combine into an atmosphere...
" and "The dueling launch coaster, which received a Golden Ticket Award...
" - Orlando Sentinel – "
Stardust Racers, the dueling roller coaster attraction at Epic Universe
" - CinemaBlend – "
...both the yellow and green versions of Celestial Park’s popular dueling coaster Stardust Racers
" and "I will say there is one thing that is a consensus when it comes to the dueling coasters
" - Theme Park Tribune – "
...a pair of dueling, and likely very thrilling, launch coasters
" and "...making the dueling coasters truly look like two comets dancing in a cosmic ballet
"
An IP editor has been constantly changing this to racing without discussion, so I've brought it up here in case that IP editor wants to actually weigh in. -- GoneIn60 (talk) 14:57, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
Done – No response from the IP, but I've reverted back to the dueling description and added two of the reviews above to a new Reception section. --GoneIn60 (talk) 13:13, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

- Appreciate looking into this. Given that enthusiast language is different from common knowledge and reliable source reporting, I agree with the dueling feature as discussed by GoneIn60. I believe most reliable sources will interchangeably use dueling or racing for roller coasters out there and it may be context dependent. If anything, we can always call it dual-tracked if neither sufficed. Adog (Talk・Cont) 13:37, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback, and all good points. I think we will continue to find reliable sources that use the terms interchangeably, and I have no problem mentioning "racing" more prominently in the article (currently, it's only mentioned in the Reception section within a quote). We would just need to apply the appropriate WP:WEIGHT, giving the "dueling" aspect a bit more prominence in accordance to what we are seeing in reputable sources. --GoneIn60 (talk) 14:28, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
