This article cannot be very well researched. During the nineteen-fifties or sixties, an article appeared in a British women's magazine (I think it was Woman, but I'm really straining my memory banks here), in which Sari Maritza's one-time manager described how Maritza, unable to find work as Dora Nathan, colluded with her to place an advertisement in a British industry magazine stating something to the effect, "Miss Sari Maritza, the renowned Hungarian actress, is currently travelling in the United Kingdom and sends her greetings to her British colleagues." The ruse was a success. They attracted the attention of the British film industry and Maritza was given a screen test and offered work. At first she assumed a phony Hungarian accent but informed her employers that she was taking voice lessons to better her English and acquire a less pronounced accent. Needless to say, everyone was impressed with the results – she "learned" perfect Received Pronunciation. I don't remember much more of the article but PLEASE would someone like to do more comprehensive research so the record can be set straight (yeah I know) on Wikipedia? Mike Hayes (talk) 23:18, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Sari Maritza was in one VERY well-reviewed film

This article says her movies were poorly received. "International House," which also starred W.C. Fields and Burns & Allen, was very well received. Jeri Southern (talk) 04:56, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
