The current page name, SPG20 ("spastic paraplegia 20"), is an outdated placeholder gene symbol. The uniprot recommended protein name is "Spartin", while the new gene symbol is SPART. The uniprot protein name seems to be ideal, but that location is current taken by a disambiguation page that includes this gene/protein and a wine variety. Investigating further, Spartin seems to be fairly obscure alternative name for that wine variety, so I think it will be ok to take over that page, and just add a disambiguation hatnote Pabnau (talk) 01:49, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I guess it doesn't let me overwrite it. I guess we'll have to move to the gene symbol instead: SPART. Unfortunately, there is a disambiguation page "Spart", but I think it should still let me move it to the separate all caps version. Pabnau (talk) 01:54, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
