The Columbia River - Volumes 1 and 2 - published in (about) 1832
[edit]As referenced at the bottom of the article, Ross Cox wrote an extensive description of his time with the Pacific and Northwest fur companies, in the period 1811-1817. He describes (Salish) plateau tribes of Washington, Idaho, and Montana and their environment in some detail. He touches also on 1811 Hawaii (The Sandwich Islands at the time). I found both online.
