We are aware that the wording on Cornish entries can sometimes be a contentious topic, especially those concerning geography. No separate hamlet of Lower Rose.

The whole area that Perranround sits in is called Rose. There is no separate hamlet called Lower Rose. Historically, in the 17th century, the area around the chapel was called Rose Lane End but that’s it. I’m not sure why some people call the bottom end of the village “Lower Rose” because it too is part of the village of Rose. I was born and bred in the village and the Glanvilles have lived in Rose since 1877ish and the Pennas that we are related to were living here before then by at least 100 years and none of them ever called it Rose and Lower Rose. 2A00:23C7:5E5:6401:C0B3:99C9:57CC:26EF (talk) 18:05, 25 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
