Turkey? I assume that that's a reference to the medieval conquest of Anatolia by the Seljuk Turks... which has very little to do with the modern state of Turkey. I reinstated some text that was removed as OR, but I'm suspicious that it was removed in excessive haste.

I'm first and foremost curious about the history of the use of the term itself?

This page as is makes it seme like the topic wasn't discussed till WW2 but I'm pretty sure the phrase is used in Shakespeare in the Henry VI plays. KuudereKun 21:10, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
